Heart + Paw Collects Donations for National Feed A Shelter Pet Week
Heart + Paw Centers Will Be Donating Collected Food to Local Animal Shelters
Heart + Paw, a veterinary care, grooming, and dog daycare center, will be collecting food donations at eight of its center locations to support National Feed A Shelter Pet Week beginning July 26 through August 3rd.
Food is one of the most crucial supplies for animal shelters and rescue organizations. National Feed A Rescue Pet Week aims to raise awareness and encourage food donations for those pets who are in need of help.
“Our Heart + Paw family truly cares about the local community,” said Heart + Paw Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. George Melillo. “With a drop in donations to shelters and rescue organizations caused by the pandemic, we are collecting as many donations as we can to ensure the health and safety of rescue pets as well as the stability of these local organizations.”
Heart + Paw’s King of Prussia, Northern Liberties, and Callowhill locations will be collecting food for Finding Shelter Animal Rescue. Finding Shelter Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill, volunteer supported animal rescue organization dedicated to saving, rehabilitation, training, and permanent placement of dogs and cats in need.
Donations to Heart + Paw’s Glen Mills center will go to Forgotten Cats and Senior Dog Haven & Hospice. Forgotten Cats is the leading trap, neuter, vaccinate, return (TNVR) nonprofit in the region. Servicing Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey, Forgotten Cats specializes in TNVR in order to humanely reduce the homeless cat population. Senior Dog Haven & Hospice is an all-volunteer foster-based organization located in Delaware with a goal to be there for older dogs who have been abandoned at a time in their life when their need for comfort, companionship, and care is at its highest.
The Marlton and Cherry Hill locations will be sending donations to Burlington County Animal Shelter. The Burlington County Animal Shelter serves as the rabies control point for the 40 municipalities of Burlington County, operating within the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the Burlington County Health Department. Their vision is to create an environment where all animals receive appropriate care, love, and attention at all times.
Heart + Paw Ballston Quarter donations will make their way to the Orange County Animal Shelter. The Orange County Animal Shelter is responsible for providing humane care to animals entrusted to them, consistent with State regulations and policies.
