In 2018, Dr. George Melillo set out to change veterinary care, an industry he knows well having worked for both small and large practices. In the six years since launching Heart + Paw, the Berwyn-based veterinary practice has grown to 28 locations across 10 states, a figure projected to increase to 32 locations in 12 states in the next year. More than expanding the brand, Dr. Melillo seeks to empower veterinarians, who experience high levels of burnout and compassion fatigue. Philadelphia Business Journal has named him as one of 22 Philadelphia-area executives who are driving success in the region.
