Dr. Darnelle Blackman Associate Doctor | Heart + Paw Lake Hopatcong

Dr. Blackman joins Heart + Paw from Tranquility Veterinary Clinic where he honed his clinical and surgical skills following his time as a veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital in East Hanover, New Jersey.

Dr. Blackman earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine from St Georges University and completed his clinical training at Louisiana State University. He is a passionate veterinarian with expertise in dermatology, surgery, and internal medicine. His favorite part about working in the veterinary field is being able to provide the best quality care for his patients and educating pet-parents on how their pets can live their best lives.

Prior to his veterinary career, Dr. Blackman worked for Pfizer, Inc. as an associate scientist doing research and development for vaccines.

As a former NCAA All Conference and NJCAA All American first team men’s soccer athlete, Dr. Blackman enjoys playing soccer and staying active. He shares a home with his wife Veronica, their Doberman Zuri, and their two conures Zazu and Pretty.
